The project brief was to design a timber frame structure using innovative building techniques and a repetitive truss system to support the roof cladding. The conceived timber frame construction is suspended above harbour water on concrete piles. A triangular 3D truss supports the roof system with Danpalon cladding to allow for maximum light to enter the sheltered structure without glare. Louvres located above and below wall panels enable the entire space to be opened for cross ventilation. The wide decking around the outside of the court enables Scouts to use the building for boat launching.
